Emily Irene VanCamp initially aspired to become a professional actress However, she was enticed following a visit to Katie in the Ladies Room film set. While learning to act and acting lessons, VanCamp was offered a guest spot on a TV show in Canada. Some of the shows she had starred in among others included Are You afraid of the Dark? Radio Active and Dice. VanCamp had a career breakthrough when he was cast in the WB horror-mystery show Glory Days as Sam Dolan. Though the show garnered positive critiques, it's poor ratings led to it being cancelled after just nine episodes. The 12th of May, 1986 actress was quickly offered a second part in Everwood. Her character Amy Abbott is one of the principal characters. It was for this role that she won nominations from the Young Artist Award, and she also won four Teen Choice Awards.
