She was born in Moscow on March 1 1980 to a Russian economics professor Tatyana Dimitrievna and the relatives that included Gregory T., the director of a fur company. She was ill when she was a child, and was admitted for six months to the hospital. He was then diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis. He became famous for his skating prowess with Denis Samokhin, a compatriot. In 1993, they placed 8th at a Junior World Championship and in 1994, they placed 7th. The first time she teamed up with Maxim Kachanov. Together, the pair placed fifth in the Goodwill Games 1994. Both were successful with the partnership, as they both won the Finlandia Trophy and participated in the Grand Prix of Figure Skating.
